(The partially shaded outer region of the shadow cast by an opaque object)
In the early 2000s, while living in Canada, I discovered the captivating interplay of shadows on my canvases during outdoor documentation photography. This accidental find led, twelve years later, to a new body of work. I photographed my oil paintings under studio light, casting shadows from found objects across their surfaces. The resulting digital file, capturing the shadow interplay, became the final artwork, rendering the original painting secondary.
